ILLINOIS STATE REPRESENTATIVE DEBBIE MEYERS-MARTIN PRESENTED COVETED 2026 ELECTED OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR AWARD
Illinois State Representative Debbie Meyers-Martin recently received the coveted "Elected Official of the Year Award" from the popular Chamber 57 Business organization of Rich Township. Represented Meyers-Martin was presented the prestigious honor witnessed by a capacity audience during the 14th Annual Chamber 57 Awards Breakfast held at the beautiful Shandelier Room in Richton Park, Illinois.
Representative Meyers-Martin, who chairs the powerful Consumer Protection Committee in the Illinois House of Representatives, has been credited for her continued support of numerous municipalities throughout the Southland. She has been on the forefront of attracting logistical manufacturing companies within the region as well as her undying commitment to healthcare in southern Cook County.
" Representative Meyers-Martin has been relentless in her passion for the southland. The southland mayors have benefited greatly from the many requests in which she has been called upon. She has enhanced public safety in communities that had been long ignored. But this speaks to her wide ranged ability to get things done in a spirit of excellence. She is well deserving of this award."says Rich Township Supervisor and Democratic Committeeman Calvin Jordan.
Matteson Mayor Sheila Chalmers-Currin adds, " There has never been an instance where I have called upon Representative Meyers-Martin and she failed to deliver. In fact, I can point to numerous projects within Matteson that were successful due to Debbie's input and advocacy. This honor is long overdue."
Meyers-Martin has been extremely focused, prepared and energized to assist so many villages, not for profit organizations, and seniors. She conducts listening tours throughout the 38th Legislative district on an annual basis. But her previous role as the former Mayor of Olympia Fields has been instrumental in her understanding of the needs of her district.
" Being a former Mayor has been the catalyst of sorts in my approach in fighting for my district. I know all too well of the challenges, setbacks and dire circumstances that our municipal leaders face on a daily basis. While I am honored to receive this award from such a powerful organization such as Chamber 57, it will only fuel me to continue to fight for the prosperity, development, and overall safety of our communities.
Chamber 57 serves the South Suburbs by advocating for opportunities for businesses through access, education, and connection. The Chamber has dedicated itself to empowering entrepreneurs, small businesses, and community leaders to achieve sustainable growth and last impact. Businessman Percy Scott serves as the Chamber 57 Founder and current President.
